I understand that the planet comes from the Greek hiker. The stars tend to be in a location relative to stay in the sky, but the planets move.

The Latin word for "earth" was "Tellus" or "Orbis Terrarum" inhabited earth. The word "earth", as the planet comes from the Old English "Eorthe" by Frissian / Germanic languages.
